About
Point Gib is a browser-based FPS game based on the Cube engine.
Scoring
Players are ranked on the leaderboard by a composite score that rewards both fragging skill and objective play. The scoring system uses mode-category multipliers so that players are ranked fairly regardless of which game modes they play.
Base Points
| Action | Points | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Frag | 1 | Every kill counts as the base unit |
| Gib | +0.5 | Bonus on top of the frag (headshot, knife, etc.) |
| Flag score | 3 | Scoring the enemy flag at your base (CTF, TOSOKCTF) |
| Flag steal | 1 | Taking the enemy flag from their base |
| Flag return | 1 | Returning your team's dropped flag to base |
| Flag keep | 1.5 | Holding the flag for 15 seconds (KTF) |
Mode Multipliers
After computing the base points for a match, the total is multiplied by a factor based on the game mode category. This compensates for differences in scoring opportunities across modes.
| Category | Multiplier | Modes |
|---|---|---|
| Arena | 1.8x | OSOK, Team OSOK, LSS, Survivor, Team Survivor |
| Standard | 1.0x | CTF, KTF, TOSOKCTF |
The per-match score formula:
Arena modes get a 1.8x multiplier because players sit out between rounds, reducing their scoring time. Your total leaderboard score is the sum of all your individual match scores.
Scores are aggregated across all matches based on your name and country combination. If you change your name, your new name starts with a fresh score and leaderboard entry. Your old stats remain under your previous name.
